Welcome to Heads or Harps Theatre Co



In 1994 Heads or Harps took their production of 'The Factory Girls' to the Battersea Arts Centre in London and in July 1995 they ran 'Moonshine' in both the Galway Arts Festival and the Edinburgh Theatre Festival. The following are the majority of the plays the group performed in their ten year period of existance...


Heads or Harps Theatre Company was founded in 1987 by Brid Gavin O'Connell and Joyce Raye. The company existed for a period of 10 years. During that period the company staged approximately 20 productions.

The play, Rememberance ran in May '97, directed by Fiona Kelly was one of the last Heads or Harps productions


'The Factory Girls' was put on first
at the '94 Galway Arts Festival and
then to the Battersea Arts Centre,
London

Moonshine was directed by Geraldine MacDermotte-Roe and ran first at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway before transferring to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh in August .

Mungo's Mansion by Walter Macken ran for
one week in Dec '91 in Punchbag Theatre
and was directed by Gerry Conneely

 

The Chastitute ran in the Galway Arts Centre, Nuns Island in April '93 and was directed by Tina O Rourke

 

This double was the first Heads or Harps production and was directed by Ray McBride.

 

The play Find Me was put on in
An Taibhdearc, Galway

 


One of the first plays produced by the Heads or Harps theatre group was the double bill of On The Outside and Sow the Wind which ran at the Parochial Hall.
